If you read the thread in the vendor feedback section you will see that it was not the Max that had a problem, but rather one of the Paphs that came nearly rootless in very poor potting mix.
That Max looks really large and healthy though, I can't wait to see what mine looks like once I finally get to order mine + it's TCs next week when I'm back in France!

Oh, I see.
I won't comment on Paphs. They're not my forte.
What are you planning on getting along with the Max, Camille?

The number of TCs I get will depend on how much insurance money I get from the dutch mail service for my lost orchids from this spring.(which won't be much since they want a receipt from when I purchased each plant. 8 of the 15 plants were either gifts or were from orchid shows, so I have no trace of their purchase. I have paypal 'receipts' for the rest. I also don't know if they count the shipping costs in the compensation. Hope they do!)
Gastrochilus japonicus and Psychopsis papilio are most certainly going to be TCs. Depending on the money I might add 1 or 2 more, but don't know what yet!
Also depending on the money I will order more orchids from a different grower. One is Phal mannii 'chocolate', which was one I lost in the package and that I really want to replace. Might get a Laelia sincorana var. coerulea as a TC for it, it's stunning!

Pretty cool.
I've always liked the normal yellow and brown mottled version of Psychopsis papilio.

My Hubby says it's just an excuse to buy more plants... I try and tell him the real reason is most places charge the same shipping for a few as they do for one, so it's all a matter of sharing the cost but he still thinks it's just an excuse and he's probably right

Traveling Companion. Wow. I'm very glad I asked!

Just ordered my Max and 3 TCs! Now I'm just waiting for confirmation that all are still available and then pay for them, and hopefully I will have them by the end of the week.
Really not very reasonble of me to get 4 orchids seeing how broke I am, but I'm in serious need of an orchid fix (last purchase was in january!) and I would get all of them anyway one day, so saves me multiple shipping costs.

How can it be happy if the pseudobulbs are shriveling? No one is happy when they are shriveling.
Probably at your place there is way less humidity than in a greenhouse.
maybe you should mist it as there are roots beneath the brown dry sheaths or maybe submerge the whole thing iin a bucket of water for a few minutes.
I wonder if the roots of the PBs that are higher up even reach the pot

Mine is mounted so a bit different but I submerge it every day and it seems happy with that. As Stefano has said there are roots all down beside the strings of p-bulbs so spraying or dunking may well help it as those roots will then get water.

Camille,
Can't wait to see yours. I assume you got the Gastrochillus as well, mine is slowly getting fatter in the cluster of buds on the end of the spike
