I think you should play. I have two- one I got this spring at my local orchid society- a small division- and one I bought from Oak Hill for this project. I think the idea is to learn from each other by comparing plants and growing techniques.

baaaaaadddd kitty knocked over my project plant. Clay pot shattered, orchid bumped and a spike with 5 pseudobulbs broke off. It's resting in an old ice cream bucket now, I'll repot tomorrow. Hope it forgives me. I put the broken off pseudobulb spike in water hoping it sends out roots.
Baaaaddd kitty! Badd!!! Baddddd kitty! rrrgh. :

Oh noes! Hoping for a fast recovery! Looks like you got a division sooner than expected!

I don't have experience with them, but I'm bumping this so you might get some replies.

Our Max from Andy's arrived yesterday along with its 2 TC's. (One for me, one for Hubby)
The Max is in a 6" basket and has15+ pseudobulbs, a nice hefty fella to get us started. He was a bit dry when we got him, but we gave him a good soaking today.
The TC"s are a 4" basketed Dendrochilum filiforme that has one bloom spike on it and hubby got a Lepanthes manabina. Silly hubby and his mini-addiction... all his orchids together take up the space of 2 of my favorite kinds.
The first 2 pics are the Max, the second 2 are the Dendrochilum, and the last 2 are the Lepanthes.

Jason, if I were you I would call to ask for a shipping date, phone calls to a business are harder to ignore and more personal than email. Carter & Holmes is a good nursery but they do a lot of business and something might have gotten lost in the shuffle. They also have a big open house next weekend so they could be behind on pulling mail-order plants.
Last time I ordered from them they emailed shipping confirmation w/ fedex tracking within a day and I got the plants about 2 days after that (I live pretty close by, though). A week seems like a long time to ship out a plant, so they're probably either backlogged or they already shipped it and forgot to send you the confirmation.
Either way, a phone call can't hurt! Squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that...

Max tenuifolia from Lowes. Closeout at $ 2.50. PB a bit shriveled and i removed 3 or 4 that were dried / dead. Hope it was a deal.
So the order from Oakhill came orphaned of the Maxillaria.'
including:
Gongora tricolor,
Galeottia grandiflora
Lycaste macrophylla.
any advice how to grow these? should I make a separate post? if anyone is growing any of these, please send some advice.
How many years for blooms? should I keep these seedlings that i grow under [very close] T12s more moist than adult plants?
thanks
Got also what looks like a healthy seedling of Laelia tenebrosa, larger than expected
