I've actually ordered my project plant two days ago... but today, I was ordering some potting material from a local nursery, and saw they also had Max tenuifolia intheir catalogue.. and guess what... they had the yellow form of this species.. so.. a second Max tenuifolia is on its way to me..

I've counted 15 p-bulbs although most seem pretty wrinkled. There are three new growths starting and the three p-bulbs nearest those are a lot less wrinkled.
The whole think looks pretty dry but then it is mounted and has just spent 5 days in transit. The roots look like it's been on the mount a while as some of them have grown through the cork and out the other side.
The TC (the Gastrochilus japonicus) is also looking a bit dry. That's also mounted and also has roots that are starting to cling to the mount and also what looks like a new leaf and several new root tips... also it has a spike Not sure when I'll get the max to flower but here's hoping the Gastrochilus spike keeps growing for me

Hi Rosie, can't wait to see the pics!

Well mine arrived yesterday but due to the server move ( ) I wasn't able to post pics.
Here it is...
It has three new growths... this is the one on the left...
The only thing that bothers me is that one of the p-bulbs and the back of the mount has this green crust on it. Anyone know what that might be from this last pic?

Arrived!
Mine just arrived, larger than I expected, in bark with four bulbs and three starter bulbs. Pretty shriveled - I'm giving it water now. For those of you who've had it a few days- did yours plump back up with a good long soak?

Tristan- mine has plumped up somewhat, but I suspect it will always stay a little shriveled now.
Rosie- perhaps try rubbing it with a cotton ball soaked in Hydrogen Peroxide? Looks like what used to be algae, now dried.

Tristan, I've been looking at mine tyring to decide if it has plumped slightly. I had the idea it might have done.
Izzie, I'll give that a try. I think you might be right about the dried algae.
