Do not worry. You are not the only one that has not ordered yet. I was going to order from Los whatever and found that they do not ship to Alaska. So now I will try and find another place to order from who will not charge more for the shipping then the plant.
cheers,
Jason

Hubby and I ordered ours... he lurks on OB and has posted the occasional picture of his minis in bloom. We're jointly doing the project under my name and with just the one plant since we both care for the 'chids we have.
We got ours from Andy's and paid a little more but it is in a 6" basket, and we also got a Dendrochilum filiforme that I've been drooling after that promises to be in spike or bloom, and hubby picked a Lepanthes manabina.

Sad day.
Just opened my delivery from Ian.
I got what I paid for, a three bulb division for $2.
However, the largest (and only real one) pbulb is very dehydrated. After pulling gently from the sphag (it was very wobbly anyways), of the few (short)roots it had, only a couple are viable (there are a few very short ones starting). I understand that this species has sparse root systems, but still...
The box was very warm when I received it, so I suspect that the plant was exposed to some heat in transit.
However, it had no insulating packing material in it whatsoever. The pot was wrapped in newspaper and taped in a corner of the box, the leaves were bare.
I'm not sure what to think.
I've sent him an email.

From what I understand, it can be difficult to get orchids shipped up to AK. I hope you're able to find a vendor who can/will.

the countdown I see.... I do the same thing when waiting for a package! lol
Well, I did it! I ordered. I just couldn't wait. I ordered from Oak Hill Gardens. I've been very happy with them in the past. I got a project plant from them before, plus a whole lot of seedlings.
Anyhow, little Maxine shall not be lonely Here is what was in my cart at checkout:
Maxillaria tenuifolia (the 3-3.5 inch pot)
Encyclia polybulbon
Dendrobium parishii
Laelia tenebrosa
Neofinetia falcata
Leptotes bicolor mounted

Lol, well, apparently not all is lost. Philip talked me down, as usual.
The little guy is just going to sit in his sphag until monday, and I'll repot him accordingly. Don't have a smaller pot, so this one will be filled with hydroton, and then sphag/lava rock just as deep as the roots go.
Poor George got cooked. I gave him a booboo kiss.
Ian offered a refund (wow he replies fast!), but after talking with him and Phil, I decided that wouldn't be necessary. Just another baby to pamper!
Now it just has to live up to it's reputation as a weed!
