Here are some websites and articles I've found on Maxillaria culture in general.

For what it's worth, after reading dozens of threads and articles about this guy and it's genus.... x.x
I've decided to grow it in sphag mixed with hydroton- which will not decompose quite as fast, so will help with these guys resenting repotting. Generally, it's recommended that you mess with the roots as little as possible when repotting. From Philip: [these guys have sparse root systems. Their roots can get very long, but they don't have very many of them.] So this will be a new experience after growing phals and catts!
They like to stay somewhat moist, but they also love lots of good air movement. Planning on a regular plastic pot (probably whatever one it comes in), but I've seen them grown successfully in plastic net pots and slatted vanda baskets (both in sphag.)
Seems like they also really benefit from a temperature drop at night, and warm/intermediate day temperatures. So I think they might do well outside, in bright (cattleya type) indirect light.
Mine will come inside in the cooler months in order to give it a cooler (and somewhat drier) winter rest, which I've also learned that they appreciate.
Again, this is just what I've gleaned from all of my research. They can be grown a number of ways, but this is what seems to be the most common.
Hope that helps.
All this said, these are one of the hardiest, toughest, most vigorous orchids out there. So I think we'll all be fine.
