With TOF there's a min order of $30 not including shipping and handling.

Shipping is 15% of the cost of the plants.

The handling for a small order is about $12.

Is this within the price criteria of the project?

I had a couple [Sarcochilus hartmanii]. But they didn't make it. That was before I realized they grew better as lithophytes.

But I did see some [Sarcochilus hartmanii] at Santa Barbara Orchid Estate in bloom.

Gorgeous!

Sorry about the delay, been busy.

If you have to spend 30.00 then No. because some may want only the project plant. We can leave it on the list for now and when we get to finalizing the poll we can go over the issue's.

Seller Sapphirechild on etsy.com has one BS aberrans in stock for $15 and $6 shipping (I know, super cheap!). Don't know if she'll have more to sell anytime soon. I've gotten a few things from her in the past and she always has good quality and rock-bottom prices.

I got my aberrans from Marble Branch Farms in February for $10 during a field trip with my OS. They've never listed it one their website but they might still have some in stock (probably for $15-20). They also have a few primary hybrids of aberrans if anyone's interested in those for non-project purposes.

I think most of these current seed-grown aberrans are coming from H&R. They don't have any listed in their current price list but they might have enough around for the project (assuming that's what's picked, of course!)...

Philip, I'm intrigued by your suggestion of Australian Dens; which ones are you thinking of? I think kingianum and tetragonum have already been suggested, though as someone else pointed out kingianum can be a reluctant bloomer without a cool period... I'd love to try out a few more of the Dockrillia/Rhizobium Dens, and enough of these are available in the US that importation might not be necessary. I've been told most of them are very temperature-tolerant and generally easy to grow. Shoot, maybe I DO want to join the project after all...

EDIT: I forgot, I think Oak Hill listed aberrans until recently, to my recollection for $15 or $20. I don't know if they still have any to sell or not...

sapphirechild on etsy.com spoke at one of our OS meetings! her name is julia redman. she is very nice, and very knowledgeable. she actually brought some of the aberrans to sell. they were $15 and hey looked nice.

speaking for my self, i already have a kingianum, but idk about other members. if its picked, then ill have two!

Not Aussie Dens, Nat.

Aussie terrestrials.

Thelymitra
Diuris
Corybas
Caladenia (this one might be too much of a challenge though)
Leptoceras
Chiloglottis
Pterostylis and company

Although the other lithophytic Dens from Australia are more commonly available and they're mini's. The challenge is to find them within the price range allowed for the project. Most are over the limit.

Den kingianum is beautiful, but it's also a weed. I own one.

I've got Den kingianum already. It's growing like a weed. I already know how to grow them.
I'd have to check, but I don't think that any of those are readily available in europe. Aussie orchids of any type are quite difficult to find, and many people rely on international orchid shows to find them, or wait for a vendor to import some once in a while.

A few of the mini Aussie Dens that haven't been suggested would be:

Den cucumerinum
Den linguiforme
Den wassellii
Den rigidum
