I think a project where everyone has the same plant is what the projects are all about. like dave said, everyone getting what they want, is what we do here anyways
just my two cents

Exactly what I was thinking, maybe I didn't make that all clear. But I do think that it'd be beneficial for everyone to check their lists for all the criteria, and availability, etc.
I ABSOLUTELY agree that we should wait to discuss plants... I know when I read a thread that I haven't seen yet, I lose interest when there are 9 pages of posts... so maybe we should start a new thread for every step so no one is confused/uninterested because of the length of everything here???

Also, I feel like those of us who have never done this are getting sent aside (to read a billion posts) when the concept is simple and not too hard to understand. I know I was losing interest and I'm bored right now. I can only imagine what everyone else is thinking. Organization goes a long way, not to be rude or anything, but I got a massive headache reading those posts I was directed to... I know how I feel and I'm sure others feel the same also.
I know about the poll, I've done it, but I think things needs to be a lot clearer. Maybe start a new thread for sign-up, one for ppl to suggest plants (and get input from the others who aren't in the US), and one for the newcomers to better understand what's going on. It just seems like everything is so jammed into this one forum, it is confusing and turns people off from it.
Thank you for explaining more to me though! It's really appreciated!

Yes please start looking for plants to suggest and if possible make sure they fit the criteria. that will be very helpful. But before they go on the final poll they need to be double checked to ensure availability. Starting a new thread now will make it more confusing. I will start a plant suggestion thread when the time comes. again this is a members/group project and any input is appreciated. I'm not the brightest bulb on the board

Hi Mary,
I"m sorry to hear that your frustrated. What are you confused about? With previous projects there hasn't been this much confusion so I'm not sure where the confusion lies right now. How can other OB members help in clarifying things for you? Please remember, this is a process and can't materialize overnight. Keep in mind that being the project organizer is an extremely difficult job and Dave has been nice enough for the past few projects to do this job (Thanks Dave)!!

thats what this thread is supposed to be, its supposed to be a thread for sign up. and everyone just forgot what the thread was about and got ahead of everyone else.
this is only my second project, so im overwelmed as well. i agree it is confusing, but IMO its confusing because people have gotten ahead of themselves

Well I figured since some of us are so excited about throwing ideas out, why not have a thread to discuss just that? So everyone can check availability, etc. And give each other ideas, and what not. I know I have seen the picture threads, and I enjoy those, so why not have a place for people to share??? And if so, add that people should composite their lists, for all of the criteria and discuss availability like I mentioned before.

It's not my intention set anyone aside. Even when all the info is just a click away. I will be PMed and ask many questions alone the way (which is perfectly OK). All the info is available on the first post. The process and the links to all the info to help find availability of plants in Europe and Canada. I don't know what else I can add that will help anymore. Another thread will just add to the confusion and make my work a little harder. As I said before check back often to the first post for updates and add info. If you think that checking these post are hard wait till you start researching plants. The Project is just over 24 hrs old and we have 13 participants. People who want to participate will make the effort.

that thread gets made after we have a list of people participating. i mean why would you make a suggestion list when you dont even know who is participating. if we did it now, we wouldnt know what suggestions were from people actually participating.

I know that some people have been turned off from it, and after reading random posts in the threads suggested, and finally got the gist of it. I would have liked the individuals who have done it before, and aren't doing anything else (while Dave and others are busy) to explain at least the basics to people, I know I'm going to try, but I'm no expert. So idk really.
