:hello I know it's probably much too late to join but I'd like to share. I bought a R. retusa var. gigantica at the Redlands show in May. I really hadn't planned on this purchase until I saw one in bloom. And since it was only $10 I decided to give it a shot.

It's not the prettiest plant around (by far!) but seems to be recovering. I decided to give it a try in s/h. It's growing new roots but no new leaves yet. I probably won't get any flowers for a few years. I'll get a few new pictures tonight.

This picture was taken the day I bought it (May 14th).

I hope it isn't to late to join! I signed up for the project, but haven't gotten my project plant yet since money has had to go towards other things. I still plan on getting mine soon and joining everyone in this project. I was able to get one of the other project plants at the time the projects started.

Ok, here is mine potting in s/h. And yes, it's a Starbucks cup! And I tried to get some pics of the roots that you can see thru the sides, sorry they aren't very good. I've lost one leaf since May, not too bad since I thought I would surely have lost them all by now.

:D You and I both have ugly ducklings- my anceps is slowly slowly slowly coming around though.

My buds are starting to open! I just ran in to get my camera. I'll post some pics soon.
