Nenella, Thats great. It looks like it has bloomed before, too. A real good indication that it's blooming size.

Here's mine. Got it from Carter and Holmes. They only advertised seedlings, but I called them and they had this one close to blooming size.

Hey Sue,
That's a beauty. Looks like a good sized new shoot there, too.

I ordered 2 plants, a mounted one from Andys and a potted one from Oak Hill. They arrived a week ago; here's pictures of both of them together, with me.

It's been almost three weeks since mine was divided from it's parent plant.
And I'm not seeing any sign of new roots.
Is this normal?
Is there anything I can do to help it along.
Everybody else's plants are looking great! Can't wait to see how we do.

Well with help from this board, my L. anceps is really picking up!
How's everyone else doing? Has everyone received their plants now?

My anceps is putting out a new root. Other than that no real growth. I have managed to tan several pbulbs, a least I think it's sun tan. They have a reddish orange 'glow'. It's only on the pbulb. I really hope to get a new shoot like all my cats.
Cheers,
Stephen

Wow I've missed a lot! Work and home life have been not allowing me to post on here like I'd like to. Took the day off from work today....I had an eye problem...I couldn't see myself coming in. I rarely take sick days so I'm over the guilt.
Anyways...I got my project L. anceps a couple of weeks ago from a local grower. She gave me a nice sized division. I'll try and get some pictures soon. I've been bad and haven't potted it up yet as I am undecided on what I want to do with it. Put it in a 5 inch clear plastic slotted pot in a course bark mixture or try and search for a clay pot and pot it in sphagnum moss? I've seen some beautiful and expensive L. anceps on ebay (thanks to Ted a.k.a trdyl) that are potted in sphagnum moss so must do well it it. I've also read some other members grow their's in all LECA but not with s/h culture. Any other recommendations?
Oh....and I still need to order my other project plant...life has just gotten way to busy!

Becca, L. anceps are very drought tolerant, but do like a lot of water. In my incessant questioning, I was told most often that coarse bark would be best, generally in a clay pot.
Moss might work in your conditions, I don't know- I would find it hard to have it dry out in between waterings if I did that here.
You could ask the grower you got it from what she grows them in, since she's in the same area as you.
