D: Stinker is still pouting, has gone slightly deciduous. This week I added a sphag top dressing to that little guy and some of my catts to see if it makes any difference.
Hopefully the increased humidity will help that guy put out new roots!

I know, I know. Plant abuser. You should see me at pruning time on our garden- I go crazy! But all my plants get full and bushy.

Shriveled pbulbs are just part of orchid life. I had a hard time accepting it, but you can't expect all pbulbs to stay plump. In fact, in many species, the pbulbs naturally become grooved. And almost all pbulbs become grooved or wrinkled with age.

If the bulbs really start to shrink, the plant is not getting enough water. Nice thing about Catt alliances is that the bulbs will plump back up- not so with other pbulbs like on Oncs and Dens though.

Yours look just fine- a little grooving is normal. I wouldn't go crazy increasing water over this little bit.

BTW - how's little stinker doin'?
That actually reminds me of a comment I saw on cb97's always using her pool as a photo backdrop.
Something along the lines of "BLOOM OR YOU GET DROWNED IN CHLORINE!"

I think I'll try that technique on my non-bloomers! BLOOM OR I'LL PUT YOU INSIDE WITH THE CATS!

Can't let the cats hear that or there will be much disappointment.

Mice and ants have actually been the problem outside. Spread some mint branches around- mice are gone! Still haven't figured out how to get rid of the darned ants in our dirt patch.

Crossing fingers, I think the Laelia will be moving outside this week! We had torrents of rain the past couple of days, but I think it's safe now.

:X I'm so nervous.

Default We've got progress!

Here are pictures of the new lead off of the original new lead, and the new lead coming out of the dormant eye I thought I'd nicked off.
And the bugger has finally started to put out roots too! They really started to take off when I put some damp sphag on top.

You can also see that I accidentally tore off the leaf from the lead it came with. Revealed a teeny sheath thing that I suspect is dormant?
Gave a long lesson to my mother last night about why you wouldn't just cut off the bulb now, and how they're like energy warehouses even without leaves, and what the sheath was.

Magical lead from nicked-off eye-

Exciting roots of amazingness-

De-leafed lead with teeny sheath, and new lead-

Hanging out with her old friend the little stinker-

So how is everyone else doing?
