Yes, the sheath comes from the center fold of the leaf where it meets the bulb.
New leads will come from the base of the bulb near the rhizome- you can probably see some dormant eyes.

It looks so healthy and happy!

Yep definitely new growths! It looks very happy. I think as shallow as your basket it, I think the moss would still be fine, but I also don't grow in your area either. If it doesn't dry out say every few days in between watering, then I'd repot it. It just looks to happy to repot in my book :)

Call_Me_Bob 05-25-2010 12:27 PM

That's the thing, if it rains before it drys out then it takes a little while to dry out. It rained two days ago. And it's sill pretty wet. So. Well see how it does in the next few days. The sun has just now gotten to that point where it hits my baby partially yet so we shall see what the next few days hold. Hopefully. No repot as it seems so happy

Your first picture shows a small new lead, I don't know if that's what you were asking about.

And this picture is a dormant eye.

Call_Me_Bob 05-25-2010 01:42 PM

Hat is a dormant eye? because I didn't notce it when I got it. Pic 3 is the one I'm wondering about. It has the lead, and then other thing coming out of the side of the same lead.
