I thought about that, but I don't want two plants competing for the same space. I potted it in its own little pot for the time being.

I guess this will give me a chance to try these in two different growing areas and see which one does better. I do love an experiment.

I went though my collection of possible mounting materials last night and pulled this out. It's about 18" long and 8" high. The part I would use as a mount is made of cypress driftwood. The large chunk of lava rock there is just to support the wood. Do you think this would be a good choice of mounts?

It seems alright now given the size of the plant as is, but I have zero experience with Miltonias and have no idea how large it will get or how fast it's going to grow.

I think it will be awesome mounted on that piece of driftwood. I'd go for it. Let us know what you decide

Tyler - I agree with Dave. That's gonna be one snazzy Milt on your piece of wood! Can't wait to see pics!

I love the look of that wood for a mount. I can't comment on size but I think it will look fantastic.

I might as well go ahead and try it. That's what this whole project thing is about after all. If the plant gets to big I can either try to train it to grow back on itself, or take cuttings to try other ways of growing it.

Wow Keltera --

Both plants look awesome! You can really see the rhizome growing of the miltonia. And that's super great that you got your sharry baby in bloom! I can't wait for mine to bloom. How is the smell? Are you going to leave the milt on the webbing or transplant to something else? Where did u buy yours from?

i think iam going to keep it on the webbing, might add some moss depending on how i see the webbing holding moisture

there is only one flower open on the SB so far, and only a faint scent yet, but its very sweet! reminds me of chocolate fudge mmmnn
i ordered them both from paramount orchids, it was a little pricey though but i love my new plants

Interesting that you got your Milt mounted. I got mine from Paramount too, and it came in a plastic net pot filled with what I think is coconut fiber.
