well N would be in the rainwater naturally so I do think its a lack of a flower-boosting fertiliser that's the problem.
Nice plant. I read somewhere that mounts are best for miltonia but mine is doing well unmounted, must be a shallow pot though. Also easier to water

Lucky you! mine originally came potted in a shallowish pot. It overgrew the pot so I mounted the half that was out of the pot... a good year and a half later if not more (can't be bothered to see when I posted this) I mounted the secoond half....and they are both growing and growing.......
Yes I agree MUCH EASIER with a pot for these as they are BIG!!!

Well seeing I have decided to update on all my 'project' plants... Basically only news is both divisions grow and grow .. I'm moving back to a house we used to live in (in 10 days further 'south' and where there is a lot more natural light than I have here so hopefully this year ..sometime I will see a bud! They grow at such an incredible rate that I cut off a 1/4 of one and gave it to my mother. this now mea,s my original plant has been divided into 3 BIG pieces...I hope they will flower....
As otherwise for the first time since I've been growing orchids the thought of getting rid crossed my mind as take up LOADS of space...

No flowers on mine either, but it grows and grows and is massive now. I found it hard to find inside space for it this winter and it's not in an ideal spot but seems to be doing OK. I re-mounted last year and the new mount will be too small soon.

Just with I could get flowers!

UPDATE! I am 90% convinced I have a spike! It has grown out of the 'right' place and looks like pretty much like all the other growths, except for it being slightly swollen in the middle and looking at it through light It really looks like a spike. keeping my fingers crossed.I will take a photo and post tomorrow if it's sunny.

Default yay at last! :)

I was right! I can't believe I finally get to see the bloom! been waiting since 2009. My plant is tagged Miltonia spectabilis "mugge" here is a shot of the bloom on one division, a developing bud on the other half and the 2 divisions together. I haven't seen any other buds for now but it really is very difficult to see them. I had/have been watching the bud and hadn't seen the one that has opened until yesterday when I took it out to water.
By the way the 1/4 I gave my mother has 3 developing buds on it!

Holy moly, your plants are huge!!! Congrats on finally getting a bloom! I never joined in on this project since I knew it was going to be difficult to get it to bloom in the Netherlands. Not much sun.
