Well, here's my little guy on the second try for a spike to bloom. Had one spike self that blasted in the end of June, but this one looks like it might just make it.

Hello Bill, that one looks well and a second bud is visible too! Great growing!

Well I finally got a chance to post a couple pics of my little cutie! Only one flower on this spike so far, but 2 other spikes are forming.

Awww, they're all so danged cute! Nice work everybody!
Shortly after opening the flower on the second spike it dropped the first flower on the first spike. The first spike is already developing a new bud so it should bloom again.

Terri - mine too is starting another bud on the first spike which currently has an open bloom and a bud about to open. It has also started a new spike! Such an awesome little plant!

Mine just dropped its flower after almost 3 weeks. The same spike looked as though it was going to put out another bud but now it seems it has stopped growing. Although it did start a second spike a couple weeks ago.

My first spike finally opened a bud! It has been in the frog tank with Krammit....here's some pics of Hara E. and Krammit D.. I'm surprised this bud even made it, Krammit has stepped on it repeatedly. He sits right above it while he zeros in on crickets, then he clumsily jumps (the best way I can describe it is like "The Greatest American Hero"....for those of you that remember him) in the cricket jar, and comes up chewing. I keep the crickets in a little jar, otherwise they burrow into the back wall and hide. Anyway, here's Haraella, and the second spike should open in a couple weeks.

Are there any prizes being given for the first one who kills their Haraella? Mine has been on it's third spiking, only this time, it's accompanied with yellowing bottom leaves and the main stem looks like it's rotting!!!!

Really awesome, Jasen! Lovely photos too! Krammit looks like a cutie.
Oh, noooo, Sandy! So sorry to hear. Keep us updated on how your little one is doing. (btw, I think someone else has already won the first-death prize for this project.) Also...someone a good while back on the OB (I think maybe it was Ross??) mentioned that these little guys can indeed bloom themselves to death.
Update on my Haraella: she is growing a new leaf, and the same two spikes which each had a bloom recently have both started budding again.
