Thank you Nanella for sharing this great idea with us! I have to have such a bottle too LOL, that way I could have more moisture loving mini's ;-)

Camille, I got them at work- Yes you are correct they are 'collected back'..so If you have some go 'missing' they charge you €10..
Well I just had to have them !!!

Well, I finally bought my Haraella...better late than never. I bought mine from Dana (Cool Phrog Orchids), hope it's still within project guidelines. It already has a spike, and another one is starting to poke out.....I mounted it anyway!

As I was watering Smelly this morning I noticed 2 new nubbins poking out from between the leaves. They look skinnier than the roots so I'm crossing my fingers that they are both spikes. One looks exactly like the one in Dave's last photo above.

Beautiful mount and healthy looking plant! Did you know they grow "up side down" in their natural habitat? I've read that the leaves/stem are prone to rot if water stays there to long. You might considder turning the mount 180 degrees, just as with a Phalaenopsis on mounts.

Can't wait to see if your growths indeed are spikes!

I think mine is growing backwards. Almost no real discernible size gain in the spike since receiving the plant weeks ago...

Stephen, just curious how you culture yours?
The first 2 weeks I kept it in Phal light without direct sun. After these 2 weeks I gave it more light and kept it warmer. It gets some morning sun from the South and it seems loving it. Also, mine nevers dries out, I keep it fairly moist. Since it gets more light and a higher temperature it's growing a new leaf, growing a root, has 6 spikes (came with the majority of the spikes) that all develop slowly except for one that is growing a nice bud that gets a bit fatter each day, and it's putting out a new root/spike (can't identify it yet).
PS I keep it in high humidity, around 75%.

Mine even didn't seem to mind the change from green house to living room, being boxed in the mean while for transport, being mounted and back being potted. It just keeps growing and growing despite I was worried to kill it.
