I can get it to keep on growing...
Oh no! Hope you can get it to pull thru! I wish I could send you one of mine

Hi All,

Mine finally stopped blooming and started growing. I have 2 new fan growths this year and I assume it will start throwing buds very soon. Mine is a prolific bloomer even though they are small compared to others in the project.

The new fans on mine are growing like a weed and it put out another spike. Bloom should open in a week. Yay!

Mine is blooming! I caught a slug on it last night but I caught him early. He is now a squashed slug.

He didn't get a chance to eat the bloom! Yay!

So any one still have their original plants from this project?
I'm seriously contemplating getting an other one, as they are just too cute.

Mine died just last fall and I'm not sure why. It was chugging along just fine and then it starting losing leaves and that was it. I don't know what it's average life expectancy is but 5+years isn't too bad for a plant that was in bloom as much as this little cutie was. I will certainly get another if the opportunity arises.

Mine died in the heater theft 2 years ago. Bummer because it was a fun plant to grow.

This weekend I discovered that there has been yet another name change for this orchid. I don't know when it dates from since I'm no good at keeping up with these things, but Haraella retrocalla (or odorata) is now known as.....Gastrochilus retrocallus.
