thanks - mine bloomed well last year, so that's why I'm thinking the cooler temps have slowed it down - tho now I think I remember it started blooming in August last year, so maybe not that far behind this year ...
It just seems weird that one spike started late last year - and then hardly grew at all til recently lol. But it has a bud getting fat now, and another spike that started some time ago looks like it's developing two buds, and two more recent spikes starting as well. Just seems slower this year to me, but hopefully will be nice once it gets going
I did get a couple of keikis on it earlier this year as well ...
I have mine potted in tree fern fiber - afraid it may be too dry for it here mounted - tho I could try your bottle trick - but it seems ok in it's pot
I do love the way the blooms "present" on yours tho!

That is a great pic Nenella. I've never been able to get a good photo with my little Sony. Your plant looks real happy.

Thanks!
I do have 'one problem' with them which I have already mentioned months ago...
Every time they put out a new leaf - the leaf is 'glued together' as if folded in half. I always end up slitting them with my fingernail (over a few attempts, so as to not damage them) Does no one else have this problem?
I have tried leaving them longer always in the hope that they un-stick by themselves... haven't ever for now...
I had just 'un-stuck' both new leaves in the week before taking the photos posted.

Here's Smelly Ellie as of today. She's got 3 blooming spikes and a 4th on the way.

I had this somewhat on one leaf so far - it party opened, but not all the way - only one that has done it so far - I do have a catt type that every new growth will not open on its' own ... don't know what might cause that

Thanks guys. Nenella, I think it just looks big because of the perspective of the photo. Each flower is really only about fingernail size. It's in it's original 1.5 inch thumb pot in course bark. Seems to be quite happy so I'm not messing with success! The roots have grown up and over the edge from the bottom of the pot. It's in a very bright spot with my Catts, and gets watered twice weekly in the summer when it's hot and once a week in the winter.

Cind-haraella has finally kicked into gear for me this year -
early this year it grew 2 keikis. The larger of the two has 2 spikes! One of those is blooming now, and is the only open bloom at the moment, but the parent plant has 6 spikes! 3 of those have fat buds!

1. bloom on keiki
2. keikis
3. some of the spikes on parent

Nice! Congrats on getting it to flower! Do please share photos as other buds blossom.
I have a question did you increase your watering between last flowering and this one?
I ask as I noticed some of the older leaves show signs of a bit of 'wrinkledness' ...? but the newer ones look cool..
I was going to post about this but I all of a sudden have a "different" peloric? looking flower on the plant that had 4 flowers opened (it now has another lot of 4) I'll take a pic as weird to have this all of a sudden...
