Mines making a comeback. It has a new leaf, root, and possibly a 3rd spike since I nearly killed it. The old spikes look like they are putting out buds too.

Yeah - they are awesome little plants - mne dropped her first two blooms a couple of weeks ago but started new buds on the spike, and a new spike that looks like it may be getting 3 buds. One bud on each spike are looking like they should open soon!

Well, whaddya know!! Six months after the start of this project, lazy little Haraellaphant has finally decided to join the living.
Following a solid half a year of nothing, no growth at all, I woke up today to this. Another spike is starting on the other side. Oddly, the original spike it arrived with (curved on the right) is still frozen, but it never turned brown. Also, lots of healthy new roots are beginning to pop through the sides of the net pot.
It is now hanging two inches under a bank of T5 bulbs, and I suspect the radical bump-up in light must have done the trick to finally jolt it out of suspended animation, since absolutely nothing else worked. I was a bit worried it might get burned... but you can see the results!

So my little 'Retro Gal' bloomed for her second cycle last week. I was sick and couldn't quite focus the camera. She bloomed and it looks like she has more coming on the same spike and another spike. I'm sure glad to have this little cutie in my collection. She has just been hanging out with all my other mounts getting fertilizer once a week and misted every other day.
So where are we on a winner? Mine did not come with any spikes and she finally bloomed in July and now once again.

My little Haella Fitzgerald has 2 blooms, 2 seed pods, and 1 more spike bud working.
She is currently on her way to the orchid show in Little Rock.
I think I might have a variation in color as mine is more of a cream yellow. I'll take pics when she gets back. I did notice a citrus scent in the early morning.

Great Job Lorraine and Melissa, good luck at the show. My little plant looks like it's on its way out. I treated it for scale after finding a couple on the spike and it's not looking good.

Well Haella Fitzgerald is back from the show.
She won 3rd place in Allied Genera and Species.
She had 2 blooms, 1 bud and 2 spikes (still cooking).
What a star.
