Cam - I had roots starting a couple times previously - this does look different to me - tho just have to wait a few days to be sure I think
About a week ago there was a new nubby which I figured was a root and turned out to be so - at that time I also noticed a 'bulging' on the plant inbetween leaves- this new nubby has come from that bulge - and isn't 'glossy' like the root tips are
so - not positive - but do think it may be a spike!
I will update in a few days when I should be more certain

I'm so excited! Yesterday I made a picture from the fattest Haraella bud. This evening I was re-arranging some plants and inspected my Haraella for the 185736th time since I have it. Guess what, it's opening it's first bud. Only slightly openend but I can see some hairy fluf from the lip.
This is the picture from about 28 hours ago:
As soon as it is openend, a new picture to follow!

Thats great but you really must pay more attention to it. 1/4 of a million times a month at least.

You didn't tell me that the bud was actually opening! I get the feeling that the more I stare at the buds on mine, the slower it seems to grow... Not only to you have a zillion spikes, bu you also have a second bud on that spike! Not on mine... The end of the spikes( after the buds) is yellowish, despite the 70-75% humidity at my windowsill these days.
As a side note, how's the pulchra spikes doing? Still nothing on mine. Just another root.

I watered it this afternoon and saw nothing special on tiny Haraella. When I checked it again tonight I saw it's opening, that is why I didn't tell you. Euhm, In fact I told you, listen to your voice mail. Had had to call you because I was too excited!
Yes it is making a second bud on the same spike and the other spikes have buds from about the same size! I wished I could get all the spikes all together in the same picture but that is impossible to do.
The spikes from my Phal. pulchra grow but not very fast and I can nothing see special on them. THe roots are doing not much but the new leaf is growing. It seems to put more energy in it's new leaf than in the spikes. No signs of buds or keiki's but they are still very short. I've read the spikes become as large as the leaves? They are far from that!
If the Haraella bud is open half way tomorrow (I can't believe it will open fully tomorrow) I'm going to picture that too.

The original largest spike (out of focus, but on the right in the front of the picture) had that too, without a bud when I received the Haraella. That was the only spike that was about to bud, but it kept sort of hibernating until a week ago. It started to grow again and now is budding, so yours still might build a second bud on the same spike (IMHO).

The bud on Chuckles aborted but luckily there is a second bud starting so there is still hope that I will get to see it bloom soon. I guess it didn't like the 2 hot days that we had last week.

Rolando, sorry to hear that! How hot did it got where you live and what did that with the humidity? Maybe Chuckles needed an extra watering due the extreme weather? Just curious, in order to learn from.
