Sue, I noticed that Bulbo. dearei was eliminated because it was unavailable in Canada? It's at Paramount.

In the US H&R carries it also. It's in their new spring catelog.

Thumbs up

Sue, you can add a for me to the below chids for the project. I missed the first part of chat.

I have a feeling I might be getting more than one. This is going to be a tough decision. I like 6 of the 11 listed.

Paphiopedilum spicerianum
Trichopilia tortilis
Den tetragonum
Masd infracta

Thanks for your dedication to the project.

If some are interested in Paphs specifically for a possible project plant too you might try Rare orchid flasks and seedlings from Orchidbabies They had some other selections too...but I don't know about volume.

Sue, Bulbophyllum dearei is at Andy's. You have it listed as only available at "Asiatic Green...and they're in Singapore! " I guess it wasn't on the list Andy gave you. Would be a great candidate IMO!

Okay...I'll put the Bulb dearei back on the list...but keep in mind that if Andy had enough for the project, he would've told me about it when I spoke to him

Maybe if we can find one or two other places that have it, there would be enough for everyone.

The Bulb dearei is now back on the tentative list...although it is considered a warm-grower, but not by much. We can decide on it at the end.

When the time comes, we'll either find it here...or we won't

If that happens, we'll just do what we've done in the past...

if the winning plant is not attainable, then the plant that gets the next highest number of votes is the plant we search for...and so on, and so on...

On a bright note...

I received an email response from J&L, they are working on a list for us and I should have it this week.

As soon as I do, I'll post them so we can get some research done prior to the next chat (which I have not scheduled yet)

Quote:
Dear Susanne,
We are working on a list. We have come up with a few intermediate masdevallias but want to offer some other genera as well. Should be able to get it to you this week. Thank you for your patience.
J&L
I replied telling her that many members are not comfortable with Masdies so a few on the list would be nice but we could really use other genera more
