Yay, Al!! Very cute and pretty. Thanks for sharing your pic too, Adam. Now that I see what the eventual formation of buds looks like, I think I've got a while to wait for my two little spikes to bloom.

I was hoping the first blossom to open would last until all of the buds opened but it does'nt seem that this is going to happen, at least to my plant. Perhaps it is the growing conditions and others may have better luck. Anyway, I think this is the best it's going to be for me so here is my final picture. This was taken with the macro lens, the blossoms are tiny!

Very nice, Al! Three cheers for the tiny blooms! I have two in bloom and four yet to come on, but I am having trouble taking pics of something so small. Cute though, very cute! Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Hey Al, at least yours opened! It gives me hope. I mean Maine must be colder than Oregon. Mine just sits there and teases me with the buds. There are some spikes on other things though.....Carol

KiKi-do: Are you sure your camera doesn't have a macro setting? Look around for an icon of a flower.
Carol: It was -3f here this morning, is that colder than Oregon?
Mine is in a terrarium, that may make the difference, on the other hand, folks seem to be reporting more than one spike and that was all I got.

Al It is 32 degrees as we speak. (I just put my Sweet Basil plant out on the porch to kill the whiteflies. Cannot have those guys in here!) I have two spikes and they are both just taunting me. Yours sure are cute though! What tiny little things they are. Mine is in an eastern window and has some artificial light too. It just says "Maybe I will open my blooms and maybe I won't."

Beautiful, Al!! I love the sugary color. I can't wait for the spikes on mine to bloom. Oh – I'll have to wait because they take FOREVER!!!
