Congrats, Laura! It must really like you! I've got a lot of new leaves, but each bud has dried up before opening...

Those are beautiful pictures, BTW! Really, really lovely plant. I'm so happy that it has settled in so well for you!

Do you water more than once a day?

I water once a day when it is warm and every 3 days or so when it is cool.
I never water more than once a day unless it is really hot in there, and usually even then I just water the floor and wood walls to create some humidity and cool things down a bit. Which is probably the reason that my brachiata is sooo unhappy!

Aw Laura! It's so cute! I wish I had gotten the cool grower too! Dang! Maybe this guy is a pseudo cool grower and really likes warmer conditions than folks are giving it??

If the next bud on mine blasts, this one is going out in the orchid room with the warm-growing crowd...and I still want Laura to come over and give it a scolding!

I moved this one out into the WARM orchid room a few weeks ago...and two days ago, I noticed three new buds!
Saw this morning that one of them blasted but the other two look like they might actually make it!

So much for COOL grower theories

Default Happy day!!!...and a bit of curiosity...

Well, I moved it out to the orchid room a few weeks ago where the normal temps during the day at this time of year are in the mid-high 80s and night temps drop into the 60s.

I posted earlier that one of the three buds I noticed soon after moving it had blasted but I had high hopes for the remaining two...

This makes me wonder about the given temperature range. Laura (her plant is blooming like mad!) and I have these chids out where it's rather warm, Dana (her plant is also blooming like mad!) has hers at what would be considered more intermediate temps...

is anybody growing this in true "cool" conditions and getting it to bloom?
