My spike seems to be progressing well this time around. I should see blooms in a couple of week. Hopefully !!!!!

Wow no updates on this thread for a while. Mine finally decided it wanted to cooperate for me and bloom! But since purchasing it, it has probably trippled in size. I have one spike with blooms fully open and several other spikes to follow. Mine is more of a yellow color like Dana's (CoolPhrog) on page 2 of this thread. I was starting to wonder if it was going to ever bloom for me. My temps are the only thing that have changed for me...a little to warm for my intermediate growers, but apparently this one likes 90 degree temps. I also have a Laelia milleri that I haven't been able to bloom for several years but is now in spike as well...I think the warmer temps are helping a lot for the warm growers!

Sure wish mine would do something besides put out new growth. Like yours Becca mine has at least doubled in size since I got it. No blooms though. Maybe I need to move it closer to the compost heap.

I moved it to my top shelf this year, but our temps have been unseasonably cool, so I don't think it helped much. (50-60 degrees and rainy as hell) Oh well!

Hey there, Becca & Terri! Yeah, I would've also recommended the warmer temps. But I sympathize with you, Terri—we've had an oddly cool spring on our coast too! This guy does like to put on the growths. Mine has definitely tripled in size since receiving it. I just wish that, each time it adds 6 or so growths, it would end up with 6 or so spikes when it blooms!

I was just saying the other day that I should give this plant away as it has never bloomed for me in the 2 years that I've had it. Guess what I found on it today when I was watering? A spike!! I'm so excited!
