Default Hey....I got buds!

Hey folks....after seeing the photos that were posted, and paying a little closer attention to my mystery plants, I discovered that I've got buds!

Here are pics of my little itsy bitsy spikes. I hadn't even noticed the one on the warm grower...the stem is as fine as a thick hair. It is a little yellow in color, and there is also a small brown portion near the base... having just discovered it, I hope this doesn't mean I'm losing it. I guess time wil tell.

On a happier note, the little nubin I noticed on my intermediate grower is indeed a spike. I needed to photograph it and enlarge the image to really see it. it's nice and green, which makes me nice and happy.

For those who might not know, the first photo is the warm grower, the second is the intermediate.

David...I don't think the coloration of your Warm plant spike means you'll lose it. The spike on mine is exactly the same way, and at this point, the buds are definitely starting to plump up. Well...they're so tiny, I don't know if "plump up" is appropriate verbiage. YAY!

They're looking good, all these spiking plants! I inspected mine carefully today, but nothing new. Just growing nice roots.

My intermediate plant has 2 possibly 3 spikes and a new leaf. The spikes are still too little to get a decent picture of. The warm grower is showing some active root growth. I have another plant in the same genus and it's blooming so I hope this one gets the hint!

Good growing guys! Camille, you still doing OK with mounts?

I'm finding the mount far easier than pots to judge when to water. My mystery plant is happy and growing well, which boosted my confidence, and now I have 2 other mounts! I just got Leptotes bicolor and Den aphyllum today. And I'm going to mount a mini Den that I have trouble with. Mounts are higher maintenance, but oh so worth it!

Amen, Camille. Mounts are so much less tricky when it comes to watering. Ever since I got over my initial nerves about mounts, I've been soooo happy!

I haven't been paying too much attention to the progress of the mystery chids lately, life's been a little insane lately BUT...

I have my cool grower in the back of my Exo tank and have been spraying it everyday without really looking at it closely. This morning, I decided to take it out and give it a once-over...and found 3 spikes!

Nothing on the warm and intermediate growers...ironic, huh?

My warm and intermediate growers have decided to grow new roots rather than spike for me . I keep telling them that they are falling behind but they are just taking it easy.
