Thanks for your help. I really didn't think that it would dry out so quickly. I feel reassured now and think I'll be able to take care of it correctly! And who knows, maybe this is just the beginning of a large collection of mounted orchids!

Oh, I hate Friday arrivals. I can't "blend them in" as I usually do.
Oh well, he'll get over it.

I was wrong once again. My plants arrived and not a word was mentioned! I think they were so small that he must have thought they didn't cost much.
They definitely are tiny little guys! I've posted them in the gallery under Mystery Project pictures.

Just to let everyone know, I bought a cool grower although it is never cool here!
When it arrived it appeared that there might be a bud coming along which I thought would surely blast, but lo and behold it bloomed just fine and there are 2 more buds getting ready to open!
I have it in very high light and the temps in my pseudo orchid room get well into the 90's in the afternoon.
I was fully prepared to lose the cool grower due to my temps, but it seems to be doing the best of all 3!

Well, my plant had a dessicated spike on it when it arrived, but I have two spikes shooting out at the moment (and I am pretty sure there's another on the way...) if our intermediate plant is what I suspect it is, you all should be getting spikes on yours as well in the very near future.

When I got mine, it had one little bloom just fading. But it has since put out a new spike and bud and is blooming today! Bet it will be fully open when I get home tonight.
Diane's has three buds! I am watching it for her while she goes on vacation. Soooo cute.
Once you see the little bud it's fast to open, just a few days!

No sign of a spike or anything on mine either, which is good, so I will have full vredit when it does bloom!. I've had it nearly 2 weeks, but there's some nice root growth, and the newest leaves are taking on a purplish color. I assume this is from the light, but it's not very strong! It's hanging in a north facing window and gets direct sunlight only from sunrise until 10am. I supplement it with two 30w full spectrum CFLs the rest of the day.
Sue, should this plant not be getting any direct light at all? I'll try to put a pic later today!

We always notify everybody long before a project starts so just keep your eyes open for the talks when they begin
