Oh I know what you're saying. Thankfully, my project plants arrived while my bf was out of town! I dunno if he's noticed them and their TC yet. If he has, he hasn't said anything...
I love it when they don't notice and don't say anything.
Saturday mornings can't possibly get better than this! I was drinking my coffee this morning when there was a knock at the door. It was the caretaker of the building, delivering my package directly to my door!!
My mystery plant (intermediate) seems a bit different than yours. It seems much bigger with thicker leaves. I will need help with this one, I've never had mounted orchids before! I also have a TC, Doritis pulcherimma, which sort of jumped in the box!
Thanks so much Shannan, it was very nice of you!!

Camille! WAY TO GO!! I hope you have a great weekend getting your new babies settled in.
My Mystery plant looks very much like your one - with thicker, shorter leaves more closely spaced together. And I got mine from a nursery near here, not from Popow.
It will make it all the more exciting when they flower!
I have a question on watering my mounted mystery plant. I dunked it this morning after getting it, but now (evening) it's already bone dry! So what do I do?? Should I have soaked it longer this morning? Do I have to mist every day or soak every day? I am completely at loss. I wish it had come with an instruction manual!
Please feel free to move this post to its own thread in the appropriate forum if you think it's necessary!

Camille...I doubt you did anything wrong. As I said earlier in the thread, I completely understand the apprehension about your first mount. Been there, done that too. Mounts do generally require more watering than potted 'chids do. With the exception of a few of my mounts that have a large amount of sphagnum moss at the roots, I water my mounts every morning. And a couple of them, if I'm home, I'll mist really well again at some point during the day. Just depends on the 'chid. One of the great things about it...you can just about NEVER overwater a mount.
Camille, I'm one week into my first mounts and they haven't croaked yet. I soak both in distilled or RO water every morning for about 30 minutes. When I get home in the evening they are both dry. I don't re-dunk in the evening. Once a day seems to be keeping them both happy. The weather here is warm and dry right now. I'm sure as the weather cools down in the fall they won't feel quite as crispy at the end of the day.
