This just in from Andy's regarding the Habenaria medusa:
"Hello Gwen,
Great choice for an interesting orchid, but no chance at this time we will have any for sale. Andy’s said, "Good luck in finding these in any quantity." I have seen these available in very small quantities at an orchid show; I can’t remember where, for $125 each bulb. Yes, they were bare bulbs for $125. You might want to pick a less expensive and more readily available plant for your project, such as Habenaria ericmichaelii, the pick form of rhodocheila. These also go dormant in the winter, but instead of spending $125 or more for something that might not sprout again in the spring, you are only out $22. We do appreciate you thinking of Andy’s Orchids, and wish you luck in finding a appropriate orchid for your project.
Sincerely,
Harry Phillips
Andy’s Orchids Inc"
OK, I think that one's out? lolol

Thanks for the info, Gwen
I did a search last night for all the plants on both lists and couldn't find this one here or in the EU.
It won't be going to the next step

That's it folks!
We'll go over everything in tomorrow's chat, add the ones that we like and get more opinions through the thread until Saturday.
Do we want to take the ten from each group with the most names listed next to them by the end of the day on Saturday OR do you want to send me your top three picks and I will calculate the top ten from there? Remember, out of those top ten, I will blindly choose five to go to the polls

I unfortunately will most likely not be able to make it to tomorrow nights chat. I am supposed to be dropping off the 'chids to the orchid sitter for my vacation....but work has been keeping me late in the evenings....so either way...I'll just have to catch up afterwards, sorry!

For what it's worth... In any case, I'll go with whatever method everyone decides on.
