Two more suggestions for us to consider:
Laelia xanthina & Laelia furfuracea

Hey guys... I haven't been able to keep up with this - too busy with the Neo stuff!

Dave, I'm not going to be adding a warm growing orchid, so no need to make sure its available over here!

Lene, I know that Switzerland (also not an EU member state) has agreements in place regarding plants from EU countries. Does Norway not have something similar? It might be worthwhile checking, as that would expand the number of nurseries that you could order from.

I'd like to suggest Phrag. besseae as a cool grower. It stays relatively compact (though not mini) and its one that I have wanted to add for some time!!

Info available right here on OB: http://www.orchidboard.com/node/122

Thanks for the information, D

**Tonight is the sign-up deadline for this project. If there are no warm/hot growers joining us from Europe, then we, here in the U.S., can confine our availability searches to U.S. vendors. The intermediate and cool growers will still have to have dual-availability.

.................................................. .................................................. ..........................................
Here's what the newest suggestions are:

Leptotes bicolor
IOSPE PHOTOS

This one has been part of previous project discussions...even making it to the final poll in Project 6 (our last one:
8. Leptotes bicolor
(Dorothy, Ross, cowboy51278, whygreenberg, camille1585) - 5
IOSPE PHOTOS
2-4" tall
Available in US, Europe and Canada
)!

We know that it fits the criteria for any of the temperature groups, is small and is available.

.................................................. .................................................. ..........................................

Vanda coerulescens

I can't find any vendors for this one...only Vandofinetia Blaupunkt at Vandofinetia Blaupunkt (Compact): Orchids By Hausermann

Info I find says it is "under 15" making it too big for us anyway

.................................................. .................................................. ..........................................

Laelia xanthina is now known as Sophronitis xanthina

Orchidwiz has this listed as a "robust, 17-20" plant"

Keep it in mind for a T.C...it's gorgeous!

Would anybody be interested in this one?
IOSPE PHOTOS

It made it to the final poll in our last project, so it works for us

.................................................. .................................................. ..........................................

Laelia furfuracea
IOSPE PHOTOS

size 7", bright diffused light, brisk air, summer days 69F-71F, nights 47F-48F, plants can take temps 5 degrees higher and possibly a bit more, habitat gets light frost in January but plants are protected by the canopy of their host trees, humidity 70-75% drops to 55-60 in winter and early spring, slight winter rest, shallow baskets or mounted...known to do poorly potted

.................................................. .................................................. ..........................................

Phrag besseae
Phrag besseae culture - growing tips

Orchidwiz says this plant is 8" tall.

What a beauty for the cool growers!
I killed mine...now I know why!

.................................................. .................................................. .........................................

Dendrobium mutabile
IOSPE PHOTOS

Small, high light, cool/intermediate/warm

.................................................. .................................................. ..........................................

Paphiopedilum bellatulum
IOSPE PHOTOS

usually smaller than 4", bright light, no direct sun, summer day temps 77F-79F (84F-86F in spring, nights 64F-65F, humidity 80-85% down to 60% late winter/early spring, slight winter rest.

.................................................. .................................................. ...........................................

I think that's it so far...have you gone through this list? Maybe something will catch your attention

Sue & D...I'm confused...are these from last night's chat? What about the others?

Also...re: Prom. stapelioides...I've been reading around some more on it, and while it sounds like it will do intermediate temps. (up to 80) just fine, it's also known to be difficult and slow growing. Perhaps we should take it off the list?
