We will end up with maaaany suggestions .. we need to cull them down into something workable ..
There is a European Orchid Search Engine developed by Camille that can be used to search for orchids in Europe .. Custom Orchid Searches
There are links of Orchid search engines for the USA (there are 2 for double checking) and Canada, also

Before I waste my time searching availability to Europe and Canada. I would like to know if anyone from there are planning on getting warm growing chids. And if not why do they need to be available there. I understand if they are getting them and I will spend the time. otherwise

Hi Dorothy and Sue!
I have one I would like to add to the list. It's small, W/I growing, but I can't tell if the Europe search has it because it's listed in another format and language???? Canada has it and the US has it. It's very pretty.
Broughtonia sanguinea (available at Santa Barbara Orchids and Clouds).
I'm terribly sorry if I am making work for you, but can't understand the Europe search.
flhiker, I love that aspasia lunata.

Ooh! I love the Broughtonia sanguinea and was going to suggest it also! Great minds thing a like!
IOSPE PHOTOS
It's available at Oak Hill and a few other places here in the US. The EU search turned up Schwerter, but I think it was a reference to Broughtonia sanguinea as a parent in Cattletonia Why Not. It wasn't listed under the species catts.

Okay, let's take a breather
There is a sign-up deadline set up for this coming Sunday night. We can take suggestions before then without actually making sure they're available all over. As for the temp groups, right now we have no Canadian members signed up and just two of our friends from the other side of the pond. We'll find out from Shannen and Lene (unless it's already in this thread and I don't remember ) what temp range besides Intermediate they might go for...I don't want to assume anything.
For now, let's just make sure any warm grower is available in the US (because I really do think Shannen and Lene need cool growers ) On Monday, we can fine-tune things a bit.
Dave, I love that second one. By the time we get to the chat tomorrow night, I hope to have more specific size information on them
I will also have a number of suggestions for all three temp groups, taken directly from Andy's site so we know they're all available here.
I won't be online tonight very much but I will take care of adding the plants listed by Dave and kiki to the list as soon as I can. (If I forget, remind me )

Dave - at this point, we are still open to accepting members into the project ..
Hold on to those suggestions ..
but so far, I was able to find Aspasia lunata at
Schwerter-Orchideenzucht and Orchidees tropicales d' Orchidee Passion in Europe ..
Kiki - I haven't looked into yours yet .. (I don't want you to think that I am ignoring you)
Thanks Sue

I've been eyeing this one for a while now and I'm not sure why. That picture you showed didn't do it justice. I have it in some of my reference books and it is stunning! I know it's used alot for crossing, but I like it just because! It may end up as the TC.
Isn't that a rule or an orchid commandment? (If not, it should be) Rule # 13: "Orchid growers don't let orchids travel alone." Yup, it follows right after Rule #12 "Orchid Growers do not keep orchid sales a secret from other orchid growers - ever! "
Well, I don't have to tell you guys all the rules...you already know them!

I may have to back out from this project...
I have tried researc about ordering chids, and how to get them over the board. The chids have to have both CITES-certificate and a healthy-sertificate.
Unfortently, the norwegian orchid sosiety isnt mutch of a help, they will not be of any assistanse even to tell me about the roules about importing chids since im not a member and want to import by my self.
I will try to figure it out, but for now it seems like you can remove me from the list.
And i will join in if i find a way later...
