About the dog, she is born with bowed legs (hind quarters only) to the point that the patella (knee cap) lays next to the knee joint instead of on top of it. They had to correct the bowed leg, that way the patella (knee cap) comes back in position naturally.

She is a purebred Chihuahua, longhair chocolate tan.

One of my (four) rescue dogs has/had this condition and the associated surgeries. Five years on, he's still out-running me! Good luck and gentle cuddles

Ecuagenera often sells Dendrobium species in section Densiflora. They regularly ship to the EU and the US.

I might mention many Dendrobium section Densiflora species require cool winter temperatures to flower ( below 50 F / 10C), as do most Den. nobile hybrids. You're not going to be able to do this in a heated room. Keeping them dry is not a substitute.

I might suggest not using the terms 'hard cane' and 'soft cane'. They at one time were used to distinguish between Den. phal. and Den. nobile types, not other Dens., but the terms are not specific enough. There is not really a difference in the hardness of the canes, but the longer Den, nobile canes are more flexible before breaking.

One thing to mention - a lot of Dendrobium densiflorum being sold around the world right now are not true densiflorum. There are a lot of guibertii being sold as densiflorum or hybrids being sold as densiflorum. True densiflorum will have round canes which is the easiest way to identify them within the section.

Den. amabile and farmeri are also from the section with farmeri probably being the most space friendly. The hybrid between the two, Den. Rosy Cluster is even easier than either species and gets the floriferousness of farmeri and longer inflorescences of amabile which makes it a great choice too.

Do you have a picture from true densiflorum and true guibertii ?

I’ve got a picture of the flower for true densiflorum, but nothing handy for densiflorum. Another difference is that the lip in guibertii completely covers the column while it is open on top in densiflorum.

Thank you, I have bought a densiflorum which never flowered for me (plant not mature enough). Now curious what I bought :-)

Either species make for a fun plant to grow! Older plants that I’ve seen exhibited all seemed correctly labeled, but for the past few years it seems like everything available for sale has been guibertii or hybrids. It does get big though compared to densiflorum! It’s the only species in the section with tall square canes. The only other species with square canes are shorter growers like farmeri so when it’s bigger, it should be easy to ID.
