My Paph. Charlene from Paph Paradise
Paphiopedilum Charlene is haynaldianum x liemianum. This, too, came from Paph Paradise at the beginning of May. I also need to water this one every two or three days by soaking in water for several hours to overnight.
On arrival it had two growths. The listing said flowering was expected in 2 years. Since then the oldest growth has begun pushing a spike, and the newest growth making another growth. I don't know whether I got an older plant from a previous batch, or the hybrid is more vigorous than expected.

Paph. Debbie Robinson - I collected from Elite Orchids (who it transpires are only 25 mins from my home, dangerous!) on Friday.
I have been really impressed with Elite Orchids, excellent communication and they upgraded my order for free to a larger specimen. What pretty leaves she has!!

It is supposed to be near blooming size. It has three fans so I would expect it to stay small. The vendor listed it as a small plant. This is my first paph that is more than a tiny seedling, so I guess we'll find out together. And yes, it is a cutie!

I'm looking forward to comparing our blooms when they happen. Since the two species making up my plant have a similar appearance, I'd like to see the difference wardii makes.

I finally got around to taking some pictures of my project plant, which is Paph Donvischilum (concolor x leucochilum). The leaves are not as dramatic as some of the gorgeous mottled leaf varieties, but they have a nice blue tinge to them with scattered white dots. The plant overall is quite compact and would fit easily on any windowsill.
It has grown one new leaf in the time that I have had it, and now has a new tiny leaf emerging. Whether this will be another full leaf or the plant has entered the blooming cycle remains to be determined.
This brings up a question. In my mind, I always call the tiny leaf that a Paph makes right before it flowers a "sheath". However, I have no idea if this term is correct. Does the tiny leaf associated with blooming have a name?

good question!! im curious to know as well. we've seen it referred to as a "sheath leaf", and so that is what i refer to it as. it probly does have a specific biological name, or it could be called a "reduced" leaf....the naming of the parts gets a bit annoying, but i love it!!
these little hybrids you guys are getting are great!!

Found a must-have paph, randomly, on Etsy. It was supposed to arrive July 3... got waylaid in Texas and is to arrive today. Anxiously awaiting. Will it be great? Will it be healthy? Did it get toasted during its layover down in Texas? Stay tuned...
PS Paph delenatii x kolopakingii var. topperi 'Crown'. Seen two or three blooms from researching it... hoping mine blooms similar to the one shown on the offering. Every one I located looked nothing similar to each other. Here goes the journey...

Wow! I had to look it up and found the listing on Etsy. That is a very beautiful looking flower and plant. Fingers crossed for it to arrive healthy.
