I've been surprised this mounted Phal tolerates more neglected drying out than almost any other mounted orchid I have. The only damage is a browned edge to one leaf. The humidity has been quite high in the growing room, though.

@Tmoney, I think for the leaves' color and stage that this baby needs a bit more light. Mine is having a really bright light as well as the Doritis

Update...

Kind of spindly little spikes, I think. Pretty sure bottom two blooms are blasting. I moved it further away from my misters, and humidity is probably less on other side of room.

WOOW! but I thought your plant was in a very bad condition, it looks great!

It was! That was first part of July. By first part of August I'd given it a stern lecture, cut off a couple of leaves. Now it's giving me spindly blooms. If kindness doesn't work, sometimes threats will suffice.

the one we have in s/h is going into my classroom today. we shall see how it fares with a bunch of 7th graders and a bit more light. so have you erred on the side of shadier is better, or have you been in more light?

WW, your plant looks fantastic! I'm jealous!

After a good start, mine has just been sitting there doing absolutely nothing. I think the problem is that although it had good roots, the 5cm pot it's in is still too large and the plant is not well anchored. I think I'm heading for another project plant fail, of all the projects I've participated in there is only 1 plant which I didn't manage to kill.

How do you grow it?
Mine is in a giant S/H pot, outside in semi-shade, temps ranging from 13°C to 27°C.

Since they come from the same place, it might be interesting to compare. I'll take pics later.

Mine is in bark. To be fair I wasn't exactly kind to it lately. I was afraid it would never survive my 3 week summer vacation since I had no plant sitter so zero water, so I took it with me (and as many mini orchids that would fit in the shoebox). The plants travelled from the Netherlands to the western most tip of Bretagne, then to the region of Lyon, then back to NL (so something like 2800km). And it got dumped out of its pot twice when taking everyone outside for watering.
