Mine's starting a new root, which is something!! Could be an effect of the Kelpak treatment it got when it arrived.

Pic 1 is my order from J&L.
Front row L-R, Warczewiczella (Cochleanthes) amazonica, Phal. deliciosa, Gastrochilus obliquus (not from J&L).
Back row L-R, Trichoglottis triflora, Gastrochilus japonicus.
Pic 2 is the deliciosa. Definitely "petite"!
Long story short, my friend who was holding these for me offered me a Gastro. obliquus from a bunch he had raised from a flask he got a couple of years ago when I stopped by to pick up my plants. I accepted his offer not realizing at the time that what was in my hand (japonicus) was NOT what I had ordered from J&L. I had ordered obliquus. 
Looking for a home for japonicus with one of the NH orchid folks because I am afraid if I take it to FL it won't live long, even in winter let alone next summer. |

It must have heard me lamenting because I checked this morning and spotted new root tips! Progress at last! I put mine in an oxygen core pot to pick up humidity around the root zone

Mine arrived 10 days ago; and in spite of being shipped twice (thanks Camille) and repotted, is hard at work on roots and a new leaf.

I'm trying to decide between mounting and semi-hydro to repot. Would someone please just give me the temperature parameters these guys can handle? I'm getting confused, and intermediate to warm does nothing for me. I just want a straightforward "WW, keep it between 60 low at night and 85 high during day sort of advice.

If you have other Phals in your collection, this one can easily grow in the same conditions. This species is quite adaptable since is has a rather varied natural range. Check out the first post of this thread too, there's some useful info in the culture sheet. If you keep it above 60F at night it should do fine. I can't find much specific info online about temperature ranges...

I am updating too!
Mine is growing, not ver fast but we'll, 1 leaf and 1 root and new root tips in old roots. Temperatures, day: 81°F and night: 67°F.
I am not able to provide cooler temperature than these.

I couldn't find specifics online either, thus my chagrin and irritation. Heck, I found out more cultural information about a Drac lotax than I did this silly deliciousa!

PS I'm FINALLY getting around to repotting. Update coming soon... and so far it's been a WOW repot. And not in a good way! Pictures coming later today...

Got mine in yesterday from Marlow's, roots seem a bit dried out, but it did take an extra 4 days to get delivered so hopefully it'll bounce back fine.

So my interesting repot. (Finally.) First a reminder of how this Pd looked when it arrived...
I soaked it, pulled it out of the pot, set it down and the two halves of sphag broke apart. I forgot to take a picture, because I was kinda in shock. It appeared it had been in old sphag, someone completely stripped out the old sphag, took some new wet sphag, and just sandwiched the whole root system in between, and plopped into a pot.
The root system was literally a smushed together flat layer in the middle. Here's my lovely root system after taking the sandwich of sphag off and fluffing out the pancake of roots a bit.
Nice, huh? And here it is after sloughing off all the rotted mushy velamen. Hmmm, not a lot of root going on here, right? 
And now repotted in non-pancake roots fashion...
Hope these two little new roots that I got started after arrival are up for doing their magic real soon...
A perfect example of why we should repot ASAP after receiving a new plant. Good Grief.
