It has been mainly Camille who has been looking into temps and vendors; she's a boss!

I would love to participate as well, but the big question will be if I can actually get the plant chosen. Importing plants to the island is a big production so unless I can get one of the flower shops here to bring it for me my plans will be ruined. It would be so much fun to try

When is the selection getting made?
I have a coupon code for J&L that is good for another week and have a couple plants I'm getting ready to order.
Just curious what the schedule is.
BTW- one I'm getting is Warczewiczella (Cochleanthes) amazonica. Been dying to try one. Probably not a good choice for the project as it likes life VERY warm so not a broadly acclimated option.

I’d also be looking to expedite the species selection, as I’ll be likely be picking it up at Andy’s open house in 2 weeks. Perhaps those of us wanting to select sooner than later could choose one that works for us, and just see if everyone else follows suit.

I may be new to the forum, but I'd love to participate.

I'm not even sure to participate either! Being the only person participating from the EU I haven't checked availability here. I'll join if the winning plant happens to be something I can get. Fingers crossed that both of us can join!

I understand that you're impatient and would like to get the plant then if possible (understandable as it limits shipping costs and fun to pick it out directly) but project plant selection has always been a group process, and it would be good to keep it that way. You are welcome to start a different project however, there are no rules against that! There have been years where we had @ projects running in parallel.

Sorry Camille,
I don’t mean to sound impatient, it is rather the latter of reason about avoiding unnecessary shipping cost and being able to pick up a plant in person (rare these days).
Overall, I may just be unclear about the process and timeline arriving at the final selection. I respect that there is a legacy to this project, having been multi seasonal, and will adhere to the prescribed timeline, as the intent of collective cultivation is worthwhile.

No worries! In the past the projects have always aimed to get the plant picked out by end of April, which is when it's generally safe (temperature wise) to ship plants to most places in the US. Neophyte and I had come up with a rough timeline for everything, but I think we've both been a bit busy. We might just skip some steps and only have one poll. Neophyte was hoping it would get set up today (or ASAP).

Sorry all, been a bit busy in the last few days... we're going to try to review the final list by today or tomorrow and launch the poll as soon as we can.
