Not really. This is based on a plant (any plant, especially roses) not sitting wet overnight. As long as the leaves aren't wet and out of a breeze, what's wrong with night watering

If the plant is sitting high in sphagnum, only the roots should be exposed so it's kinda like "it rained at night". Guess I'm getting more and more like Ray and questioning the "accepted lore" of orchid growing based on my own experiences. Since I didn't get a chance to water my Sederias this morning, I'm off to do it now!
