Shams, a very nice plant I only see that the leaves look a bit stressed (almost leathery), and the sphag a bit too dry. I found that my two Sedireas growing in Sphag like it very wet. I keep the sphag very wet, let it dry and next day again very wet... they seem to love it...

Hi Shams, I couldn't help notice you saying you would be dunking them at night? In everything I've ever read or been told, night watering is an absolute no-no.

Not really. This is based on a plant (any plant, especially roses) not sitting wet overnight. As long as the leaves aren't wet and out of a breeze, what's wrong with night watering If the plant is sitting high in sphagnum, only the roots should be exposed so it's kinda like "it rained at night". Guess I'm getting more and more like Ray and questioning the "accepted lore" of orchid growing based on my own experiences. Since I didn't get a chance to water my Sederias this morning, I'm off to do it now!

Agree with Ross... I also water m plants at night as very often I have no time during the day... They also get automatically sprayed at 20:00... The only thing I try to ensure is that they do not stay "leaves wet" when it is dark...
it works fine so far!

I'm an evening waterer too! Like Ross and Ramon I just make sure all the leaves are dry when I'm done. I have a fan running too so I figure if I miss a little drop it will dry quickly anyway. I'm actually quite relieved that others do this too. I have no time in the morning during the week to do anything with my 'chids. I'm glad I confessed, it's been my "dirty little secret" but I've never had a problem with it. lol
