My project Sedirea has just started to grow a new leaf! And the three new roots are continuing to grow. More things happening with non-project Sedirea, though.

Will post those in another thread later today or tomorrow.

My project Sedirea did not love its rock home (too dry), so I transplanted it in a little Erin Pot on 06.14.08 and it seems much happier. The photo was taken right after the transplanting so now, a couple of weeks later, it's more established and has perked up.

Not seeing any new growth but the leaves and roots are looking pretty good.

I do really watch the humidity to keep it a little on the higher side, around 70%. This little one's leaves tend to split otherwise.

Edited to add: I am trying a new growing media: charcoal chunks on the bottom, small to medium chunks of bark & sponge rock tucked in and around the roots and filled in with coconut coir.

Well, I'm not sure if I ever posted any pics of my project plant. That doesn't really matter though. It looks almost the same. I got a new pot for it at the Redland show. It is a really pretty hand thrown purple clay pot. I also got a new potting mix from Broward Orchid Supply at the show. This mix dries out a bit fast for me but I am getting used to it. I am growing it inside in a sunny room. It has some new roots. That's about it. Here are the pics . First, when I got it (when the project started), second when I repotted it in May, the rest are recent pictures, and last is the sunny bathroom when he lives with the other difficult 'chids. Those are south and west windows. Temp is constant 75. Will this plant bloom in these conditions? Would it be better off outside in the constant rain and 90+ temps? It certainly isn't growing very fast! Any advice would be appreciated.

Yep! I am a sneaky pot snatcher, for sure!

Shannan and Marilyn have beat me out of several that I really wanted.

But not to worry! Vic make another one that will be very similar, if you send him the photo of mine above. I've asked him to make a few for me that I lost and could not live without. They are very similar and I am super happy with them.
