Here's mine in April and today. It's doing great, new leaf and lots of new roots popping out. Not sure if I should remount it or pot it up or leave it alone.

My experience with Sedirea (I have one mounted and one in pot) is that it's hard to cause any long term damage by disturbing it. In other words, it doesn't mind the disturbance. I also find they adapt well to all sorts of watering regimes. The mounted one is submerged daily and hung to dry. The potted one is sprayed (the surface roots) daily but deep watered about every 4-5 days. With one mounted and one potted, I have to say the potted one is the more robust grower. Both started out about same size a year ago. I'm not in this project by the way - I already was growing these when this project started.

Hi Jim! It looks great! I think I would leave it as it is, but that is just my opinion.

In regards to our project plant, I have the Minmaru and I am having problems with the leaves splitting starting at the tip of the leaf, is there a reason for this? I try and keep this one pretty moist, it is potted in sphag moss as it came. I can see the roots and they look happy, also a few of the bottom leaves have been dehydrating and falling off, three total so far!

Lookin' good. Yours looks like it is enjoying a little more light than mine. What kind of exposure does it get?

Hey Royal... It looks brighter then it is, it's under daylight CFLs at about 400 foot candles. Hope that helps.

hhhhmmmm.... I just went through the calendar until May 2009, and could not find any reminder for updates on our Project 6 plants.... did we forget that or it's me missing something?

then a second question, I have read that Sedirea like light a bit higher than Phals. I have my plant at about 9 inches from Fluorescent tubes (two tubes) and has become very dark, almost like Catlleya grown under too less light... Does any of you have noted something similar? My Sedirea Minmaru is doing fine, even if a bit lower than the project plant.

Mine is under about 60% Florida sunlight, and seems to be doin pretty good. It's hard to tell the color from this pic, it was about to rain...so it's kinda dark. Mine has a new leaf, and a big, fat, pregnant belly! It just hangs around here, bare-leafed and pregnant....with the "Project babies".
