that's a really good one!!! Just let me know if it works. Just imagine Cher, Madonna and Co. sitting in pots trying to feel pretty and saving some dollars...

I haven't have time to tell you that I received my little Sedirea this week! So cute!!! I've been meaning to post a pic, but the last fews weeks were so hectic. I also inherited a harlequin phal abused by an aunt, as well as some keikis from a Den kingianum.
I was working in a nursery to earn €€€€ for next school year and some days I'd work from 9am to 11pm getting orders ready. Next week I should have time to post a pic since I've got a different job in a garden center. And it's thanks to OB that they took me!!!! They were impressed by my orchid obsession/knowledge/insanity, and I'll be in charge of the orchids in the store (amoung other things.) I think I'll be using my employee discount to buy more orchids!!!

So... I don't know what I did.... but Minimaru has been in a state of suspended animation for about a week.... maybe a little longer. Is this normal? The flowers got about halfway open and then just stopped. No scent... no change... I took Ramon's advice about the watering, and the leaves are starting to look better (thank goodness for that) but it may have affected the flowers

On a brighter note... I was puttering the other day and found a bud on my Psychopsis These always have a spike, and the one on mine is about 3 feet tall. But I can tell you it certainly didn't have a bud when I first brought it home!

I found with mine, that humidity seems to be an issue to fully open the blossoms. This seems to be true of a lot of Angraecoids and their cousins (like this guy). Seems like the minute you place one within a Wardian Case under high humidity, it responds with great buds and spikes. I have proven (to myself) that Haraella will do the same thing in a dry environment, yet open normally in a moist environment.

Here's my 'Daruma Minmaru' today!

No strong fragrance but if you really sniff. . .there is a lovely floral scent.

So far doing well being rock mounted. The roots are adapting, with a new root budding now.

I do see some leaf split on the tips of the newest leaves. Not sure what to do about that. I don't know the cause of that but it's like they grew too fast and split their breaches. Any advice?

And I've got some sort of seedling coming up that came in with the gravel. Can't imagine what it is but it's gonna have to go back outside.

water it once a week and then LEAVE IT ALONE!

I had a Papilio before (this one is the Mendenhall Hildos) and first I repotted it, because it's pot broke because I dropped it like.. the first day I got it and taped stopped working after a few months. It seemed to do ok after that, though it didn't bloom as often as people tell me they are supposed to. But then I moved from an apartment to a house and it decided it didn't want to live anymore.

It's in a bark mix, it's snug it its plastic pot, and the plastic pot is sitting inside a clay pot. Seems to like it

I love your little mount That really turned out well, and the flower is perfect! I wish mine would do what it's supposed to. My humidifier says the humidity is at an average of 62% and it's sitting on a window above the sink. Like I said... at least the leaves are losing their wrinkles now that I'm dunking it more often, and not just misting everyday. Will the flowers actually open up? or will I have to wait till the next blooming season? How often do they bloom?

Thank you! It's really pretty but for sure would not be happy outside of an enclosed, protective environment, at least at my place.

I think the main thing, if all conditions are good. . .is consistency. I've noticed that some orchids can be very sensitive to any changes during all this flowering rush growth.

Is your humidity consistently around 62%?

Gonna go do a bit of quick research to see how often they might bloom. . .brb.
