How bright is the light you have it in iphog? Mine did nothing for nearly 6 months. I finally moved it to a spot closest to the window and right under a T5 and within 2 days it started growing a new leaf. Try bumping your light up a bit and see if that kick starts it.

Well I thought I would change how my Sederia is planted. I decided to go the S/H way, I figured that if it like to be in sphag. S/H should be very similar.

Ray, I hope I did the right thing,I planted it in S/H 1 week ago and it seems to be doing ok.

Here or some pics.

Right now it's in my vivarium sitting about 6 inches below my T5 fixture with air movement from a 3.5" fan hung at the opposite end of the tank and being misted with MSU, KLN and RO water.

Maybe nothing's wrong and it's just so "young" that it needs time to acclimate...

Elliot, I tried my first Sedirea mounted and it just sat there doing nothing. It had the beginnings of a spike, but it never grew. I moved it to a pot about a month ago - and now to a new bonsai pot - when I repotted it last week I spotted three new roots beginning to grow. So it seems that mine like a pot better than a mount. (The spike is still not growing though. Still green. But still now growing.)

I can't wait to see the flowers on those Minamru - Becca, Ramón, Sue & everyone - post pics as soon as they start of open!!

My Sedirea japonica Minamru has its flowers not yet open but the buds are growing a funny spur I did not see in my standard Sedirea japonica (see open flowers of standard variety for comparison)

Sue, Becca, are your plants doing the same?

reason for editing: I just noticed I had written 'Sporn' which is the german word for spur

Default Anyone want to see a Minmaru in bloom?

OK, so I was at the Toronto Artistic Orchid Society (Toronto Chinese) Show and got LOTS of pictures. Also to my great GREAT surprise, was little blooming Sedirea japonica Minmaru on display so here are some pictures of it in it's little dragon pot (so cute) and then the regular Sedirea This is what you can expect everyone!

The last few pictures are..... not Sedirea My mommy bought me these two. the first is a Den..... with a chinese name that doesn't have an english equivalent. They said it roughly translates to "Phoenix", so that's what I'm calling it. The other one is an Epi. x Catt. hybrid, that I've never seen anywhere before, so I got it too
