I just love the Amami Furan! I can't wait to be able to purchase more someday! It is going on my list. So far I have mounted 2 of my Neo's (not from NWO)....they seem to like it better that way...or maybe I should say they seem to be able to handle my watering of moss better that way....lol. I have a third (from NWO) that I am going to mount due to the same watering issue and the forth (from NWO) is still potted traditional style and seems to be doing ok as far as I can tell.
Does anyone else have any experience with growing Neo's in other potting mediums?

funny... I just read this in the Yvonne's Orchids Fancy's wesite "Neofinetia falcata Flowers extremely fragrant, brilliant white, about 3 cm across, spur about 3.5 cm long" then I ask myself: Do they sell giant neos or do I have dwarf ones? the flowers of my Neos are less than 1 cm across, and the spur is over 4 cm long (I think I've won with the spur )

Paul are all those blossoms on the Amami Furan on one spike? My spike appears to have only 2 or 3 buds.....
Al
Becca, any chance of a photo of your mounted Neo'?
They sound intriguing.

No, both my Neos put out 3 spikes. The bigger plant had a total of 24 blooms on it. The smaller one had about 18 I think.

I think your right. And the fragrance only gets stronger until the blooms go kaput! It got strong enough for me to smell it and thats saying something. I only have two other plants in my collection that I can smell. A carrion plant and a Max triloris
