Wow, it sounds like a great trip, a visit with an old friend, picking up ordered plants, meeting Dr. Lehr and Alex, lunch out, getting two gift 'chids, I'm tired just reading about it.!!!
Glad your day was terrific and thanks for sharing.

AL

Haha! I forgot to tell about the crossing the border part... but I think I might get in trouble

So, now that it's daylight again, and I'm not hustling all over the place, I had a chance to really look at the neos.

Sho Ten Nou has 2 nice big fans, but it looks like a third one has just started Hopefully a spike will come soon It also has brand new little red tipped roots.

Gekkeikan has a new root -just- poking out. Again... I can't believe how fat the roots on this guy are. They are at least twice as thick as any root on any of the other neos. I likes his stubbies!

Anzumaru, on closer inspection, might actually be two babies.... I check my plants very closely when I water, and to me it looks like the two fans might not actually be connected.... When I find the pots for them and start the repotting, I will see if my theory is correct. In which case.... I might have just gotton two plants for the price of one Only, I don't really expect this little one to flower in the next couple years. Not after I saw the size of the fan on the bigger one that cost more

WooooHoooooOOoooOoooo

This just in from Vic at Erin Pottery!

This first bit is mine:

"Hello again,

You're so welcome. . .I love the rustic, zen quality that they all exhibit!

The orchid pots you'll be working on soon, sound great! And would be well worth the wait!

Currently, I am working with a group of about 20 or so orchid nuts on orchidboard.com, we've just started a project with the Neofinetia orchids. There is a lot of interest and excitement about these orchids and they're all looking for interesting pots! One of the really fun aspects of the projects is that we will be focusing on how they are potted, displayed and then will be photographing them.

I am wondering if you would be interested in being lead pot provider for the group? Right now, I am looking to see how many people would be interested in purchasing from you. I am thinking, at this early moment, that there will be five or six people in the USA (who will probably be purchasing five or so pots) and about that many people in the UK, as well.

One of our group has already placed an order from you, Shannan xxx (Shakkai). She will be ordering more, as well. LOL

Let me know, if we might email you some photos showing what we need for the best healthy culture of these plants and what the plants basically look like, along with general sizes needed. I think this could be a golden opportunity for your group and ours as well! Let me know if this is of interest and if you might provide a small discount for the Neo. Project group.

Here's a link to the project at the Orchid Board. . .for reference.

All my best,
Gwen Diaz (gmdiaz)

This is Vic's bit:

"Hi Gwen

Our should i address you as Her Majesty (Neo Queen ) ;-D

Thank you :-)

The bonsai re potting season is coming to end now, so we have just made a start on the orchid pots, this something that we have been planning for to for some time as we do get quite a few enquiries from orchid enthusiasts.

The Neofinetia project sounds great, i would love to be involved regarding the pots for this project, please feel free to send me any pictures / information and we will bare this in mind over the coming weeks as we are making more orchid pots.

Yes Shannan has ordered some pots ;-)

We could offer 20% discount on orders of 5 or more pots, just get members to contact me before placing the order and mention that they are part of the Neo project and can send a revised payment invoice with the 20 % deduction.

I will be away from Monday 14th (tomorrow) until Friday 18th, i will look at any info that you have sent as soon as i return.

Regards Vic"

And here's my bit again, speakng in the present tense, where I am going nutballs with happiness:

K, guys. . .send me photos of the kinds of things you want them to keep in mind as they are making pots and let me know who is going to jump the Erin Pottery bandwagon.

When it comes time to order, we'll use our previous code words, so that Vic will know you're with the OB Neo group!

OMG, I am so excited. I LOVE these pots. I covet them and want to hold them and stare at them. ROFLOLOLOL

P.S. Shannan, our "Neo Queen" titles are getting around ur, a couple of continents! So I am thinking this might entitle us to a title. . of sorts.

Perhaps, "Transworld Neo Queens" or TNQ's?

Sheesh, I could get use to this.
