Of course, I'm sure a thread could be set up for "show us your Neo display". Perhaps a poll voting for the best, etc. LOL

Have to keep in mind that some folks won't have their plant for awhile and would have to have time to get involved..............

for the Neo Project... we are not lonly going to check for the culture of the Neofinetia but also for the way to exhibit, right? Is this "exhibition setup" thought to be something permanent for the plant, or just bild together for teh pcitures, and then plant can co back to its normal place? I mean, I had thought only to try the japanese method in a nice plain japanese pot... but reading this thread I think I need to re-think my ideas and plan a whole "Fuji Landscape" or similar
Photos

My thought was to "focus" on potting and display. . . for a photo. The winning photos could then be availabile to use for the OB calendar. Not sure if this is something Marty is interested in, or if the OB calendars were all sold last time. Ahem. But it's just a thought, a way, we could all help support OB, while having fun.

Potting & Display: Anything Goes

As far as the potting goes. . .I am LOVING the simple Japanese pots and think that's a great way to go. . .you could focus on matching the pot to your particular plant and maybe setting your plant up in a little orchid temple. . .it could be really simple. Really, anything goes. . .follow your creativity and see where it leads you. We're all here to learn!

We will be all judging the final displays from the photos. . .so photo cleverness counts, as well as how nicely your plant is grown and has been displayed to enhance the plant's unique beauty and distinquishing qualities.

Taking my cue from Quiltergal: These are my thoughts, if you don't like them, I have others.

Ah, with that time to think and plan you'll come up with a beauty I'm sure. I've seen your photographic skills and you are a very talented lady!

A beautiful display can simply be an orchid in a pot! That's all it takes

I admit, I was bored on a rainy Sunday with no computer because of thunder and lightening so I let myself go a little crazy

No matter what anybody sets up...these will all be wonderful plants in wonderful pots and displays, set up by all of our wonderful friends here on OB

I think we should each do what we personally would like to do with the new chids...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, yes?

I agree. I plan to display my declared project Neo in a suitable pot for it's portrait (should that time ever come ) but other than that, they are on a cake rack by a south window and we enjoy the display.

YES! Neo. "Portrait", that's it exactly.

What I am excited about, and there are so many things to choose from here, is how all these photos are gonna look together!!! All different and all taken with an eye to the orchid's intrinsic beauty. . .with our own unque. . .ur, enhancements. WA HA HA HA HA HA
