I'm quite sure that this is a dumb question but where would one find a Japanese style pot? I saw the ones at NWO and love them but they are kind of pricey. I google it and come up with nothing but mainly because google hates me. I know I could use any pot I want as long as it's that same basic size and shape but I want something a little different you know? I'm almost embarrassed to post this but I think I will anyway! Thanks!

Check out bonsia pots and Sue found a really cool white planter for her Neo. I am sure she has a pic in her gallery. The main thing, I believe, is that their be really good air circulation. . .so something with holes or slots on the side would be ideal. Check out candle holders. LOL.

Sarah, There is no need to ever be embarrassed here asking any question - that's what we're all here for!!
I have heard that people have had good luck when visiting any larger city that has a 'china town' - many times, you will be able to find some nice pots there. The key thing is, as Gwen says, air circulation. There should be a very large hole in the bottom that allows air up into the middle of the pot. I think bonsai pots are also an option - especially if you can find one of those nice tall ones somewhere!

Hi Sarah, this is the "pot" that Gwen just mentioned.
It's actually a two piece trinket box that I picked up in Big Lots for 5 bucks! the top is separate and that's where I mounted the Neo.

Did I miss something? Didn't we agree to do our best at presentation? In other words pots? So no matter what style pot or presentation we choose, that is what we get judged on, correct?

Yep, Ross, that's right... it doesn't even need to be potted! Mounts or on rocks (which I'm really dying to see!!) are also fine. Its up to each person what their 'display' will be.
Sarah asked specifically about the Japanese pots, so that's the information I tried to provide. But Japanese style potting is certainly not a requirement. Its a choice.

Thanks everyone for the help on the pots. I really love the ones on the NWO website so I thought I would probably pot mine instead of mounting it.
Sue, thanks for posting those pics! I love the look of the trinket box. So clever and pretty!
I also think I finally made up my mind on my choices. Not to be a copycat but I'm going with the Neo I initially fell in love with even though others have picked it as well.
Neofinetia falcata Benisuzume (2 growth)

Hey! BE a copycat. . .your choices are your choices and they're great ones! Gotcha down on the list in blue.
