Zygopetalum won't grow roots?

I find this interesting and typical of orchid growing. My huge Zygo "Advance Australia" is in a clay pot with a moss mix, heavy on the moss. I water it daily from the top and it is always damp. A fan blows almost directly on it, the humidity ranges from 50 to 70%. It grows like crazy and blooms a couple of times a year. BelleaOrquidea and I live 100 miles apart, yet how different we grow successfully.
