See, mine hates being damp in fact it starts to grow a white fungus. I grow it inside next to or in between a north and east window. My windows are, tinted. (Though I’m not sure if that’s the right term. What I mean is that they bloom the heat but let the light in) so I’m thinking that helps this guy a lot. He has a lot of foliage and top heavy. I have him in a semi terrestrial media and that’s how he was when I purchased him. The temp inside is 72-74 in the day and 70 at night. I water him once a week and fertilize twice a month.
this guy and pretty much all my orchids have suffered from mealybugs and I’ve treated them and it’s under control now. I haven’t seen any adult ones since my last treatment back in May and when I do see crawlers I spot treat with alcohol isopropyl.
Hopefully he decides to focus on growing and grow those roots and flower for me. I’m a big big fan of hyacinth’s fragrance and also lilacs.
