Here's a first bloom for my Lys. Red Jewel.

With my hand for scale:

Thankfully its a big bloom because the leaves are huge!

A real jewel indeed! This is a new one to me; what is the culture?

Thanks! Unfortunately it doesn't have a fragrance.

I grow this by a large east window, but I think it could use more light. I'll try it next to my phrags soon, if I can accommodate its size. Its growing in a 5" pot of bark/leca/sphag mix and I keep it evenly moist. It never gets crispy dry. Intermediate temps which drift a bit cooler in the fall/winter. Moderate air movement and RH around 60-70%.

A photo of the whole plant would be nice.
The flower is gorgeous.

That one's going to be a space hog when it gets more bulbs.

Oh, what a beauty, and that first photo is stunning. What camera are you using to get such crisp colors?
