Zigopetalum - Some doubts about their life cycle

First of all let me present you my Zigo...



It never flowered 'cause it came to me as a pbulb. Those leaves are its 2nd growth under my care. Their pbulbs are as big as an olive so it won't bloom soon.

As far as I know, the spikes grow from between the lower leaves of a new growth, before the pbulb start to form.
Am I correct?

If I'm correct, what shows up in the photo bellow, given its location, is a new growth and not a spike.



From the past history (I have everything documented with dated photos), the previous new growths appear in Fev and March. Does the fact that this one is growing in November means anything?

Mine bloomed a couple months ago. The scape did appear before the pbulb matured. Then a new growth came off the pbulbs. I don't think mine is reacting to seasons. If I recall we got ours about the same time. Here is a picture. I think others can add much more.

The 1st pic is a spike?
It isn't growing from where I was thinking...

An old cut off spike. Actually, there were two there.

Wait, I was thinking you were refering to the green shoot on the right side. If it's the dried cut piece on the right side of the pbulb it's more in accordance with what I was thinking. Isn't an old leaf missing that was covering the bottom of the spike?

No, it was a dried up sheath and I trimmed it off. All the leaves are intact.

I thought the spike, in zigos, grom from between the lower leaves just like oncidiums.

On mine, there was a sheath. The scape grew out and the sheath turned in ugly brown, so being slightly OCD, I cut it off.
