1st Zygo question

Just got my first Zygo, an "Advance Australia." I've read up on the care and I think it will be happy here but I have 1 question:

Of these two locations which would make it happiest? My sunroom where light is very bright ( on a sunny day, blinding) but temps are steady 68-70f the rh 50-60,% OR my greenhouse window with my Phals where the hr is 60-70% and temperature varies more night to day. It is a bright space and I've bloomed Oncidiums and Den phals there too.

I've read they like to be a little cooler with a swing in temps but also I 've read varying amounts of light. Please steer me in the right direction.

Here's what I've found:

It should be grown under dappled light.
Temp: 14°C to 24°C at night (57-75 F).
40%-70% humidity.
Do not water during the winter if plant loses its leaves.

OK. I didn't use spag or plastic. My question was which location would be the more optimum. One has lower but still bright light with higher humifity. The other brighter warmer ( still w/in range) but brighter w slightly lower humidity.

Zygos like being cool and humid, especially at night. I think they would prefer cooler and more humid over more light. I also think it would be fine in your greenhouse with 40 degree nights if it's humid in there.

The problem, my friend, is that the greenhouse is not in remotely close proximity to the house. And, if you recall the first hard freeze caught the Chief with the backup Heater off.

So, I will put it into the greenhouse window and perhaps change the pot.

I think it's smart to listen and consider wise advice. So, I normally sift what everyone has to say and utilize it, customizing to suit my conditions.

So, I potted that Zygo in a mix of bark and spag. Heavier on the moss. I chopped the spag lightly and potted into a ceramic pot with side holes. I chose a spot where temps would vary, humidity was higher but, not quite as bright. I suppose this straddles the fence...

I find with my Zygos it is all about temperature and not over watering. These plants like cool winters and bloom in the fall for me.

In the summer I let them get hot 90s for a short time at night temps drop to 50-60. In the winters inside they never see temps over 68F at night the temp can drop to 54F.

I do not worry over the humidity much. These plants like light

ES had some good notes from his orchid meeting. Using those, I put it in vented ceramic with bark and chopped spag. I have been keeping it moist and bright. It is in my GH window above the kitchen sink, on the top shelf. It gets constant bright diffused light. The temp varies between 63 and 70f and humidity hovers around 50%. Based on what I read, that was the closest I could come.
