We have Tst. Melinda Marie 'blue moon', got it in October, in spike. Has done very good for us in straight moss, with a small saucer under it. It stays wet all the time (thanks estacion). Water it when saucer drys. Have it in 1\2 shade. Immediate temps (55-85F) and high humidity. Has starting to put on new growth. Such a cool colored flower. Hope yours does well too.

I got one last year in bloom. It has since gone leafless and not doing anything. I am now keeping it wetter hoping it will put up a new growth, but it has been like this for months. I'm thinking I will repot it into smoss, and keep water under it and see if it will give me a new growth and some new roots. Hope yours does well for you.

Selmo, I am looking seriously at this plant. I get the water but, what are you calling "half shade?" Would it grow with my Zygo Advance Australia?

Dolly, I would say dappled sun light and half sunshine are the similar. Our is outside right now under redbud trees. Which are starting to loose their leaves now. In the winter it goes back into the greenhouse. Normally that is now the middle of October when the night time temps fall below 40F. But that has not been the case this year. The lowest temp so far has been 45F and that has been only once, the lows have been in the 50’s. In the greenhouse the light levels are a little higher than dappled sun. So we put it on the bottom benches with the oncidium types. I have never measured the light levels in the summer where it is or in the greenhouse but if 2000 footcandles leaves no shadow when your hand passes over, I would say that we give it a liitle more than that ( 3000fc ). Just remember not to let it dry out, that seems to be the trick to keeping these guys.

Is it Zygo level light? I'd like to add to my collection in that area.

Bright shade - some shadowing - is fine. No sun on leaves unless it's cool and there's really good air circulation.

Yes, it could grow with a Zygo. I think this Tsubotaara tolerates warmer temperatures than Zygos if you need to grow it someplace else in the future.
